Inquiry - Letter to Jacinda Ardern

This week for our inquiry tasks we looked at influential leaders. I chose to write a letter to Jacinda Ardern, our prime minister.

  1. Hi Star-Bright, I can feel your empathy for the Prime Minister in your letter to her. You really understand what a big job she has which us very kind and caring of you.
I've seen your family on Facebook working hard and playing hard.
What a great idea to add your poem onto your letter, good thinking

  2. What a fabulous way to end your letter with a poem. I really like that the mood in your letter is generally a happy one, despite the challenges that come with lockdown. Im sure Jacinda would appreciate that you care about how she is going. Its not easy leading a country through a pandemic. I saw an short clip one day about Jacindas life at home. She said she woke early one morning to head to the beehive for work during lock down. She came out of her bedroom door and her mum had left a hot cup of tea in a thermos and a lunch box with a banana, sandwich and muffin. I think she has a great mum looking after her. I thought you may like that wee story.

  3. I love the poem Star-bright and the letter you wrote to the Prime Minister, It's nice to see you ask how she is doing and showing an understanding of how hard it is to be Prime Minister. It is great to see you online doing your mahi, I can imagine it must hard some days in your busy house but I am sure you are all being helpful and working together during this time. Keep it up Star-Bright.

  4. Hi, everyone! How's it been? Busy? Yup. Anyway, the idea of the poem just came to me like a lightning bolt. And yes, Rebecca it can be hard these days. Well, I 'm going to go, now. Got to finish the last of my work. Bye! Have a safe weekend!
